After seeing firsthand what the lack of a trust does to families, we resolved to complete this long overdue goal of ours this past year.

The difficulty was finding someone with solid estate planning knowledge and credibility. Our previous attempts left us unsatisfied and without a trust. We tried an attorney through a legal benefit program offered by one of our employers and the “trust mill” route that seemed to be more of a ruse for gathering information to sell investment instruments than complete an estate plan.

Thankfully, a work colleague and our insurance agent separately referred us to Mr. Krasa. With two credible referrals, we felt confident in at least meeting with Kyle. It was evident from the first meeting that Kyle is a professional, knowledgeable and compassionate person who provides multiple options for his clients. I first met Kyle while serving on the Board of Directors of the Meals on Wheels program of the Monterey Peninsula in Pacific Grove. I have been in the field of aging for 30 years in several capacities, but primarily as the Academic Coordinator of The Resource Center on Aging at the University of California, Berkeley.  During those years I have met and worked with countless professionals, and have never encountered anyone more competent, and at the same time kind-hearted and considerate than Kyle.  Thus, when my then 93-year-old mother wanted to modify her will and trust, I immediately contacted him.  He did a superior job presenting options for change succinctly and clearly.  After the modifications - at my mom's request - he notified everyone involved, and provided everyone with a searchable copy of the document on a compact disc as well as a hard copy.  But, to me, as important as his legal expertise, Kyle treated mom with the respect an elder deserves. Too many professionals assisting older adults find speaking to an individual's care giver expeditious, and literally overlook the person they are supposed to be serving. Kyle always spoke to mom directly as he would to a younger client, and turned to me only at times when it was absolutely necessary.  I've called Kyle to clarify questions mom has about her will and trust, and he's always quick to answer.  In addition at my request he's recommend other professionals for mom.  I feel fortunate to have found such a dependable, trustworthy lawyer, I recommend him without reservation, and will definitely contact him with my own legal needs in the future.

During a very difficult transition in life with my mother, I was fortunate to be able to meet Kyle Krasa, who helped with this transition in a very caring and sensitive way.  My elderly mother's medical needs became overwhelming and the means by which to take care of these needs, were dwindling.  This is where Kyle's expertise helped me work through the bureaucracy maze.  He knew how to navigate through all of it, and did it in an efficient and professional way, with a great deal of patience.  Most of all he was very empathetic and kind throughout the whole process and sensitive to my mother's dilemma and health concerns.
